We are two teachers (Cath and Trisha) offering a 3hr Rock and fossil workshop onsite. This workshop is relevant to the
curriculum for all Key Stage 2 years.
The workshop is very cross curricular, providing historical and modern day comparisons to the world of work, role play, an insight into modern day industry, and how environments change.
All the children have the opportunity to handle the rocks and fossils, to predict, do fair testing, use key charts and record results. The workshop provides model investigations so the children have a good basis on which to create their own investigations.
The workshop includes sorting and identifying rocks, testing their properties and the use of scientific language and equipment.
Children have the opportunity to identify and investigate rocks, minerals and fossils, making some observational drawings as they do so.
We also cover how rock is extracted from the earth, man’s impact on the environment and changes in working conditions over the last 100yrs.

We charge £150 for one workshop, £275 for two, £375 for 3 and £450 for
4 workshops. Each workshop is suitable for up to 32 pupils.
